CCCFV members and guests gather for lunch on the first Wednesday of each month, except July. Our Junior League volunteers organize and facilitate the meeting, with guests invited by the CCCFV Advisory Board. Here are the program we enjoyed this year:

August 2016: Christina Coultas, MSSW of the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) spoke on Recognizing Organizational Trauma.

September 2016: Dr. Kristin Reeder of Children’s Health will present “It Takes a Village: Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse”

October 2016: Judges Piper McCraw and Emily Miskel of 469th and 470th district courts of Collin County.

November 2016:We reviewed our annual conference and heard a spotlight from Jewish Family Services on services they provide to older adults affected by family violence.

December 2016:  We took some time to reflect and celebrate the history of our organization as we plan for the future.

January 2017:  After a half-day retreat with CCCFV Advisor we had members bring information on what their organization is currently doing in the areas of community awareness, education and prevention of domestic violence.

February 2017: Legislative session update.

March 2017: We discussed our member survey, recent Council and Advisory discussions regarding the overall direction of CCCFV and had professional team (Criminal Justice, Social Services, Education, Healthcare, Faith) breakouts.

April 2017: We nominated committee chairs (Community Awareness, Data Mgmt, Membership, Professional Development) got an update on our revised Mission Statement progress and held a New Member Orientation.

May 2017: We heard highlights of three of our member organizations, a report on the Leadership Breakfast and an overview of the Texas Health Community Needs Assessment report.

June 2017: Linda Yarbrough of SPCA of Texas discussed the North Texas LINK Coalition whose mission is to facilitate the North Texas area’s recognition and understanding of the dynamic connection between animal abuse and the cycle of family and societal violence.
